What is the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA)?

UETA -- the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act -- is a model law designed by (believe it or not) a group that calls itself the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Law.  UETA has been adopted by almost every state in the U.S., and sets uniform standards for ecommerce transactions.
