Ownership in Corporate America used to be pretty straightforward. No more! General Motors Acceptance Corporations -- GMAC -- used to be owned by...ta da!...General Motors. These days, though its owned by a diverse group. Thanks to Uncle Sam's bailout dollars, the US Treasury owns 56% of GMAC. Other shareholders include investment firm, Cerebus (15%), Cerebus 'co-investors' (12%), and something called GM Independent Trust (10%).
