What are cow horns made of?

That's right, cowpokes.  Some cows have horns, just like bulls. But whether we're talking cows or bulls, all cattle horns are made from the same stuff, bone and keratin.  Bone forms the inner core of the horn.  Keratin -- the material that human hair and fingernails is made of -- forms the outer layer of the horn.
