How many atoms are there?

There are about 10 ^ 80 atoms in the universe (that's 10 to the 80th power...a really big number).  Of course, that's give or take a few orders of magnitude.  According to one estimate, the range varies from 10 ^ 78 to 10 ^ 82.  However many there are though, there are only 112 different kinds of atoms, one for each element of the periodic table.
